SUSTAINABILITY / ELECTRICITY USE

Measure first. Make better decisions.

Estimate the emissions associated with electricity use. Compare scenarios using your energy data, output mass and emission factor.

This estimate covers electricity only, not the full product lifecycle. Results depend on your inputs and are intended for scenario planning.

SCENARIO ESTIMATE

Electricity contribution intensity

—kg CO₂e / kg output

Enter electricity use, an emission factor and an output mass greater than zero to see your estimate.

Add the emission factor’s source and year so the calculation can be checked later.

METHOD & LIMITATIONS

How the estimate is calculated

Electricity contribution (kg CO₂e) = electricity (kWh) × emission factor (kg CO₂e/kWh). Intensity divides that contribution by output mass (kg). Zero electricity or factor is accepted only when explicitly entered; it does not represent a verified zero-impact product. Comparisons require consistent allocation, geography, period, output quality, functional unit and system boundary. This tool only checks the selected boundary; users must validate the other conditions.
